Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Serving Size: Serves 6 persons
Utensils: Cocktail serving glasses, stirring rod, small pestle

Ingredients:
– 55g/1/4 cup tightly packed brown sugar
– 180ml vodka
– 24 fresh mint leaves
– Three quartered limes
– Properly chilled soda water
– Ice cubes
– Lime or lemon wedges for garnishing purposes

Instructions

  • 1

Start by selecting six cocktail serving glasses for your drink. There are no hard and fast rules regarding what sort of glass you need to use for this drink, so you can select anything from Collins or highball glasses, to bucket or rocks glasses – just make sure it is a sturdy glass.

Once you have selected the glasses, line them up in a row on a flat and cleared surface, and equally divide the brown sugar among them. Then, proceed to add four fresh mint leaves to each glass. Now add a piece of lime to each glass, and gently pound the mixture with the help of a small, light-weight  pestle, until the limes are properly crushed, and everything in the glass is fully amalgamated.

Now that the mixture in each glass is ready, proceed to pour vodka into all the glasses, leaving about three inches of space at the top. Use a stirring rod to swirl the drink about in each glass, in order to mix all the ingredients together.

Then, top each glass with thoroughly chilled soda water, and add two to three ice cubes to the glasses. Finally, garnish the drinks with either lemon or lime wedges. Your vodka cocktail with crushed lime and mint is now ready – serve chilled.
