Difference Between Nintendo DS and DSi

Companies vary their successful products over the period of time to make sure they get them according to the needs of the consumer. Nintendo did the same when they launched the DSi to the original Nintendo DS. There have not been major changes to the product but the newer version is smaller and thinner. It also weighs lesser than the original and most importantly has a better battery life. There have also been some more changes made which include a longer stylus, an SD card slot and two cameras for the facility of the consumer.

The Nintendo DS has two screens that measure 3 inches each. It also has a stylus with a length of 87.5mm or 3.44 inches. The Nintendo DS battery works between six to ten hours and takes about four hours to reach its full charge.

The older version can also play Game Boy Advance games on it as it has the Game Boy Advance game pack slot. This is a major advantage for people who have or had Game Boy. They can play those games on their Nintendo DS by simply connecting the game to the Game Boy Advance game port.

The Nintendo DSi is smaller and thinner and the screen sizes on the new version are bigger for an even better gaming experience. This version has two 3.25 inches screens and has a longer stylus which measures at 92mm or 3.62 inches. The DSi battery can run up to 14 hours and takes only two-and-a-half hours to reach full charging.

The DSi has two cameras which are on the front and rear end. The DSi can also download titles from the official Nintendo DSi store which the previous version did not have. There has been one change made to the new version.

The Game Boy Advance game pack slot has been removed from the newer version and has been replaced with the slot for the SD memory card slot. This will mean that users of the new version will not be able to play Game Boy Advance games on their unit.
