When buying an XD-Picture card, don’t forget to choose the appropriate speed of the card. These cards are available in three different speeds; H, M and M+. The latter of the three is the latest technology with the best speed. On the other hand, the H type cards are old and slow.

Once you are finished with the speed, it is the time to select the size of the card. You will find XD-Picture cards in several sizes, but the 1 GB and 2 GB sizes are the most common. Again, it entirely depends on your requirement. If you have no plan of taking a lot of pictures at the same time, a 1GB card is ideal for you. It won’t be too expensive.

The final step is inserting the card into the device. It is always better to format it before. You can do this by attaching the card to your computer through a card reader.

Make sure you are inserting the card in the right direction. If you find any resistance, there is surely something with the direction. Turn the card over, and try again. Don’t forget to read the instructions in the camera’s documents.
