Difference between Medical Science and Medicine
One of the most common mistakes people make is when they are trying to differentiate between medicine and medical sciences. Initially it seems like there isn’t much of a difference between the two, but actually they are quite different, to say the least.
Medicine is a branch of science, which deals with figuring out diseases and methods to cure them. This means that it is disease oriented and focuses on just finding the causes for them and then fixing them. This is normally what every physician studies, in order to be able to take care of people and their health. Hence, these people are basically given the job of diagnosing diseases in people and recommending treatments.
Medical scienc on the other hand is also related to human health, however its primary concern is the study of the functions and working of the human body. Medical science takes a look at things when they appear to be broken and then tries to offer solutions. Medical science includes fields such as medical biochemistry, anatomy, physiology etc. When you pursue medical science study and end up getting a PHD in it, you can go ahead and research diseases and find cures for them. However, if you are a little lower on the pecking order, then you can go on and work with physicians to help resolve and cure existing problems.
Basically the two are fairly similar, but medicine focuses only on the disease at hand and fixing it, while medical sciences are more interested in knowing how and why things work, so they can get to the root of the problem.

It is the study of diseases, how they operate and how they can be cured. It is what all physicians have to study in order to be able to diagnose issues and treat them.

Medical science
This includes a variety of disciplines, which work together to figure out how diseases come into being, what causes them and how they can be cured and fixed. This is more research based, as opposed to medicine, which is more of a hands-on approach.
