Exams are always a pain for the students. Whether you are in college or in high school, you dread these days. If you know how to prepare for them, the nervousness and fear will decrease. They have the same amount of time as you and the same course to cover. The answer is that they study smartly.     The most important point is to study consistently otherwise you will be bound to cram everything on the last minute. Many of us are in a habit of leaving everything to the last minute. The solution to be attentive in class and give a daily read to whatever you study in class. This way the retaining power will increase. Some words and terms are difficult to remember so the easiest way is to associate them to some other terms that you use frequently and find easy to remember. If you are studying for history, try to connect the dates and events to some other related event which you will remember easily.

    Having a study partner can be beneficial if you are both focused on achieving good results. Ask someone in class who is serious in their studies to prepare with you. If you don’t have such a friend then ask for your parents help. Ask them to quiz you on names, definitions and dates. Parents are also not likely to distract you and they will take it very seriously as they want you to be fully prepared.

    Rest is important before taking a test. Do not compromise on your sleep the night before the midterm exam. If you go to the midterm and are sleepy, you are more likely to forget what you had retained and you won’t be able to think clearly. Sleeping properly will assure that you are not stressed the next day. Try to sleep early the night before the test so that you are fully rested before taking the exam in the morning.

    Wake up on time the day of the exam and eat a good breakfast before leaving. If you get up at least an hour before exam, you are more likely to be alert when you sit for the paper. Having breakfast keeps you full and stops your stomach from growling. Also, the nutrients will help your brain function properly and remember what you studied.
