How to Make a The Blenheim Cocktail
People move on but leave behind their trails in forms of inventions and ideas. Joe Gilmore, the head barman at Savoy Hotel’s American Bar is known today for his wonderful cocktail, mixed for important personalities and events.
This particular one was mixed for Sir Winston Churchill, the British Prime minister on the occasion of his ninetieth birthday. Churchill was the only British Prime Minister to win the Nobel prize for Literature. The cocktail is also known as Four Score and Ten, four score standing for eighty and Ten adding up to make ninety. The cocktail is made with brandy, Yellow Chartreuse, Lillet, Orange Juice and Dubonnet.

Utensils needed: Cocktail Shaker, Cocktail glass
Ingredients:
– Three parts Brandy
– Two parts Yellow Chartuese
– One part Lillet
– One part orange juice
– One part dubonnet
– Crushed ice as required
– Lemon peel for garnishing

Place a cocktail glass in the refrigerator. Remove it when the sides appear frosted or when your cocktail mixture is ready to serve. Cocktail tastes best when chilled.

In your cocktail shaker, pour in the Brandy, Chartuese, Lillet, Orange juice and Dubonnet. Top it up with ice. Close the lid carefully to avoid any spills. Shake hard with both hands for half a minute so that you get an even mixture.

Take the chilled glass out. Strain the cocktail mixture into it. Garnish it for an extra touch of glam. A lemon peel swimming in the drink will add an alluring look and be a proof of how much effort you have put into preparing the cocktail and pleasing your guests. Happy playing hostess!!
