How to Install Programs on a Palm Device Using a Windows Computer
If you own a hand held device and you are bored of all the applications installed in it, then it is time to download and install some new apps in your device. You can easily download and install new applications in your palm device, provided that you have internet connection on your computer, and have Palm desktop installed, as this program allows you to install and transfer files to your device.

Open your web browser and search for a website that allows you to download Palm desktop software program. Download the program in your computer and double click on the setup file to run the installation process. Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the installation.

You can now navigate to the Palm Computing website and look for the applications that you want to install in your palm device. Click the download button against each application and wait for the download process to complete. The application files will be in .PRC format.

You can now connect your device with computer using the USB cable that came with it. If you are connecting your device for the first time, then your operating system will take some time to detect and install device drivers.

Once the drive installation process is complete, you can run Palm desktop application by double clicking its icon present on your desktop, or from the “Start” menu.

In the program window, you will see the “Install” option present in the “View” drop-down menu. Click on it to launch the “Install Tool”.

Click the “Add” button, and you will be required to locate and select the .PRC file that you downloaded for a specific application.

Click on the .PRC file and then click “Open” to add the file to the Install Tool. If you want to add more than one .PRC file, then you can press and hold the “Ctrl” key on your keyboard, and click on each .PRC file that you want to add, before clicking the “Open” button.

After all the files are added, you can click the “Done” button to close the Install Tool.

You can now HotSync your palm device with Palm desktop application, and wait for some time, until all the applications are installed in your device.
