How to Make a Taco Bell Mexican Pizza

Making Taco Bell Mexican Pizzas at home is really easy. You can just grab two crisp tortilla shells, fill them with hearty beans and seasoned beef, top with pizza sauce and cheddar cheese before baking them for 8 to 10 minutes.

Preparation Time: 5 to 7 minutes
Cooking Time: 25 to 30 minutes
Total Time: 30 to 35 minutes
Yield: 4 pizzas

Ingredients:
– Ground beef: 1/2 lb
– Salt: 1/2 teaspoon
– Diced minced onions: 1/4 teaspoon
– Paprika: 1/4 teaspoon
– Chilli powder (Spanish is best): 1 1/2 teaspoons
– Water: 2 tablespoons
– Tortillas(6 “inch”): 8 flour
– Cooking oil: 1 cup
– Refried beans: 1 (16ounce) can
– Diced tomatoes: 1/3 cup
– Mild picante sauce: 2/3 cup
– Shredded cheddar cheese: 1 cup
– Shredded Pepper jack cheese: 1 cup
– Chopped green onions: 1/4 cup
– Sliced black olives: 1/4 cup

Instructions

  • 1

Heat two tablespoons of cooking oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook ground beef in it for 5 to 6 minutes or until completely brown. Using a wooden spatula, break up the meat as it cooks.

  • 2

Drain all excess oil and set the skillet over the stove again. Add onions to the meat and stir for a couple of minutes.

  • 3

Season the beef with chilli powder, salt and paprika, add water and allow it to simmer uncovered over low heat for 8 to 10 minutes.

  • 4

While the beef is simmering, prepare the tortillas. Heat 2 to 3 tablespoons of cooking oil in a small frying pan over medium heat. Place a tortilla into the pan and fry it for 30 to 45 seconds each side, popping any bubbles that form on it. Remove the tortilla from the pan when it is nicely golden brown and place in a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Repeat these steps to fry the remaining tortillas and set them aside.

  • 5

Get a small cooking pot and heat re-fried beans in it.

  • 6

Before you start layering your Taco Bell Mexican pizzas, preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • 7

Now spread a fried tortilla shell on a clean surface and top it generously with a layer of re-fried beans. Top the beans with a layer of taco meat and cover it with another tortilla shell.

  • 8

Spread about two to three tablespoons of salsa on the top of the second shell and cover it generously with shredded cheddar cheese. Sprinkle onions, tomatoes and black olives on the top and place the pizza in the oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until the cheese is melted.

Cut the pizza into pieces of your choice and serve hot.
