How to Create a Photo Collage using PowerPoint

Photo collage can be described as an informal assembly of photos stacked on top of each other. There is no limit to the number of pictures which you can use to create a photo collage. There are a number of picture editing programmes which you can use to create a photo collage. Microsoft Office PowerPoint an easy to use programme for this purpose which also gives you the option to save a collage you create in a more widely used file format; JPEG File Interchange Format. Here is how you can create a photo collage using Microsoft Office PowerPoint.

    Launch a new session of Microsoft Office PowerPoint and wait momentarily for the programme to load completely. It should take no more than a few seconds.

    Under the tab labelled ‘Home’, click the button labelled ‘Layout’ in the ‘Slides’ section. From the dropdown menu which pops up, click ‘Blank’. A solid blank page will appear on the screen. This is the area which you will use to create a photo collage.

    On the top of the PowerPoint window, click the tab labelled ‘Insert’ and then click the button labelled ‘Picture’ in the ‘Illustrations’ section. A dialogue box labelled ‘Insert Picture’ will appear on the screen. Navigate to the hard drive location where you have stored the pictures which you plan to use in order to create the collage. Select the desired pictures and click the button labelled ‘Insert’ on the bottom of the ‘Insert Picture’ dialogue box.

    All the pictures you selected will appear in PowerPoint. Rearrange the pictures if required by clicking and dragging individual pictures. After you have arranged the pictures according to your choice, you will need to bring one picture on top of the other. Accomplish this by selecting the desired picture, clicking the tab labelled ‘Format’ at the top of the PowerPoint window and choosing the option labelled ‘Bring to Front’.

    Resize one or more images if desired by clicking and dragging the green dots which appear on the boundary of an image while it is selected. You can modify the width or length of an image by clicking a dragging a dot in the middle of the one of the picture sides. Alternatively, you can change the entire size of the image by clicking and dragging a dot on one of the corners of the image.

    Click the Office button on the right hand corner of the PowerPoint screen and then click the button labelled ‘Save As’. In the dialogue box which appears, type a name for the collage you are creating. Navigate to the folder where you want to save the collage. From the ‘Save as type’ submenu, choose ‘JPEG File Interchange Format’ and then click the ‘Save’ button.
