A Day of Thanks Giving

Thanksgiving – special moments with family and friends remembering what we are most grateful for. It is also a great time to come up with creative and fun ideas for festive table settings.

Hoping for something different this year I thought it would be fun to make two styles. The first made from a CD case, the other being a simple multi-gray tone.

“Gratitude” CD Case Place Card

Supplies:

Thin CD Case
Small Green Binder Clip
Black Dye Ink
Faux Pearls
Sage Satin Ribbon – 1/4″ (10″ long)
Adhesive tape runner.
Various cardstocks.
Chipboard
Pop up dots
(1) Sage Eyelet

Cut:

4.5″ x 4.75″ Stripe Cardstock
1 each of 4.75″ x 5″ and 1″ x 5″ (Burgundy)
3/4″ x 5″ (Floral bottom border)
(2) 1″ x 5″ (white scalloped edge bottom and top borders)
1.75″ x 2.75″ piece of chipboard
2.5″ x 3.5″ (peach cardstock for tag).
2.5″ x 7/8″ (floral cardstock tag top).

Attach stripe cardstock to burgundy cardstock. Attach to CD case. Add scalloped strip to top edge of case. Add other scalloped edge to bottom border. Attach floral border strip on top of scalloped border.
Add eyelet to tag top.
Make bow and attach to tag.
Punch two oval shapes from cardstock. One white without scallop, one green with scallop. Write guests name on white tag. Add tags to right top corner.
Write numbers to left side of tag where guests list three things they are grateful for.

Cover chipboard with peach cardstock. Stamp “Gratitude” in middle and add a row faux pearls. Attach to CD case with the green binder clip to upper left side.

The tag has space for each guest to list what they are thankful for. The page can be removed and made into a small holiday keepsake.

Place Card #2 – Quick and Easy

Cut:

6″ x 3.25″ (dark gray base)
2.75″ x 3.0″ (medium gray middle)
2.5″ x 2.75″ (light gray top)
3/4″ x 2.75″ (dark gray border)

Attach top layer of cardstock to middle layer. Add middle to base of card. Add border to left edge of card approximately 1/4″ from left border of the middle. Fold in half to make 3″ x 3.75″ place card.

Add:

(3) Silver Eyelets 3/4″ of an inch apart from center.

Personalize with white rub-ons.

Just have fun, play with different colors, styles or themes but most importantly treasure time with family and friends.
