A Guide to Mexican Restaurants in Logan, UT
Sometimes it’s hard to find a good Mexican restaurant, especially in a small town. Logan, however, does not have a shortage. If you’re looking for anything from a little bit authentic to more of a Tex-Mex flavor,Logan’s got its share of places to pique your appetite. Here are some restaurants that are definitely worth trying out.
CafÃ?© Sabor: Located in the old train depot at 600 W Center St. CafÃ?© Sabor definitely has charm and a lot of great food. Owned locally by a young businessman, Sabor is a great place to go for a fun atmosphere. The waiting staff is always friendly and fast. They have wonderful giant burritos and excellent enchiladas. I personally recommend the shrimp enchilada, it’s to die for. CafÃ?© Sabor is also the best place in town if you like salsa. Often dubbed addictive, the restaurant makes its own salsa in house. It’s never the same batch twice and it’s always delicious. Often it’s hard to save room for your food when the complementary chips and salsa are at your table. CafÃ?© Sabor is also student-friendly with a weekly student special on burritos and drinks which are good enough to fit any poor college student’s budget. If you’re looking for a good time and great food, CafÃ?© Sabor should definitely be on your list.
El Toro Viejo: If you’re looking for a more authentic feel, El Toro Viejo, located at 1079 N Main, is a great place to go. Owned locally by a Latino family, El Toro offers a variety of more authentic Mexican foods at a reasonable price. Every menu item is exceptional and most come in combos so you can try a little bit of everything. The waiting staff is always friendly and very attentive. They always offer complementary chips and salsa in both the green and red variety to suit everyone’s tastes. If you’ve got a sweet tooth,El Toro also has excellent fried ice cream, but bring a friend because it’s more than enough for two. El Toro Viejo is an excellent Mexican restaurant that I know you’ll enjoy.
CafÃ?© Rio: Mass appeal is what I think of when talking about CafÃ?© Rio, located at 1460 N Main. This chain restaurant has everything that a successful chain should have. It’s got popular dishes in an Americanized atmosphere. The food is great, but not as good as some of the other choices in Logan. The pricing is affordable, which is definitely a plus for the student population. This restaurant is a good choice, but if you want a better flavor and atmosphere, I’d try one of the other choices first.
If you want variety, Logan has it. Good luck in trying the flavors of Northern Utah.
