Go to a Park
No matter whether you’re looking for a place to swim, a playground for the kids, or a nice place for you to spend the day with you dog Raleigh is bound to have a park for you. Home to literally dozens of different parks you are bound to find a great park for you.
Families will love Pullen Park located on Pullen Rd beside the NC State campus. Located close to downtown, the park has an old fashioned carousel and train for children and adults to ride as well as small lake perfect for walking, a pool, and plenty of picnic shelter areas. Pullen Park is a great location for company picnics and large outdoor get together.
Dog lovers will enjoy Millbrook Exchange Park, located off of Spring Forest Rd in North Raleigh. Millbrook Exchange Park has the cities only off leash Dog Park. In the dog park you can let you dog run free in a fenced in area and meet other dogs and dog owners. There is even a smaller fenced off section for small breed dogs.
Go to a Museum
Downtown Raleigh is home to several quality museums. Raleigh has the states museum of art, history and science all located a few short miles from each other. The museum of art often gets traveling exhibits by big named artists, and the science and history museums always have fun exhibits and activities available. Depending on the time you choose to visit admission to many of the states museums is also free. Making is a cheap and fun way to spend a day.
Bars and Clubs
Glenwood South
Young adults will enjoy the new and upcoming Glenwood south area. Glenwood South is a collection of fun and hip restaurants, bars and clubs located on the south end of Glenwood Ave. Always a popular stop on Friday and Saturday nights the Glenwood
South area offers a little something for everyone and can give you a big city feel.
Hillsborough Street
Hillsborough Street the main drag of NC State University is a great place to visit when you are looking for something fun to do. The street is lined with bars and restaurants. Everything from fine dining to cheap pizza can be found on this main strip. A popular hang out for college students, and adults alike.
Downtown
Much like every good downtown Raleigh’s downtown is full of tons of great bars for every taste.
Beer lovers will love the Flying Saucer located on Morgan Street. The Flying Saucer has over two hundred different types of beers available, with over eighty of those on tap and never charges a cover. There are daily beer specials and over special events on weekends and a few weekdays.
If wines your thing then you will love Vin a sort drive down the street. Vin has a variety of different wine’s available by the glass as well as by the bottle and a wonderful fine dining menu.
