A Poem for the Poet’s Poet – Entertaining Spring

Entertaining Spring

The adversarial atmosphere passionately spills out
fuming thunderous eruptions
Brilliant hostile flashes of blistering white
electrify the sticky thick twilight
While a dismal gray shroud
deepens in the approaching horizon
Its well-orchestrated overture
of imposing, saturated clouds
brews and looms overhead in an expeditious parade
Encroaching upon the planet
its enamoring dominion
Twisting gusts violently thrash the trees unguarded limbs
exhausting them into flaccid conformity
As swollen drops nourish
the wanting, thirsty earth
Entertaining spring…
