Addendum to Adoption Entries Published on AC Site

Gladney had scheduled their grand opening to celebrate their new building. It would be held November 1st and 2nd. It involved a zoo trip, carnival, and a Gala dinner.

“I’m getting very excited about the prospect of running into my birth son,” a birth mom said. “If not, though, it will still be a good experience for me.”

Oprah Winfrey had a special the day before about adoption. They showed a birth mom going through the process of being pregnant and having to choose adoption for her baby then choosing the APs. The AP mom was in the delivery room with her. The adoption was open so they could speak on the phone and could see one another sometimes. The AP mom explained that the birth mom was a very brave, strong, loving mom who only wanted the best for her baby and that she had so much respect for her.

The other day a birth mom read something another birth mom said about placing her baby for adoption – that she wasn’t “giving her baby to the parents as a gift, but rather giving parents to her baby as a gift of love.” The birth mom who read it said she thought that was very poignant.

“We all gave our babies the best gift we couldâÂ?¦a loving two-parent home where our children would have all a child deservesâÂ?¦love, security, stability, support, opportunity, and secure financial provisions,” she said.
