Adipex is an appetite suppressant. Adipex can become habit forming. If you take Adipex for a month straight your metabolism will become so dependent that your energy level will be very low. Adipex is only suppose to be used three months out of the year. After being on Adipex for about two weeks you can no longer feel the effects of the drug. You know longer feel full and energetic. It’s best to take Adipex a couple of days and then skip a couple of days. Adipex is only available with a prescription and does come in a generic brand.

Adipex is best taken an hour before you eat on an empty stomach. You should also keep in mind that this medication can last 4-10 hours. So it would be a good idea to take it 10 – 14 hours before bed time. Adipex does not speed your heart up but you do feel more energized. Most of the time you feel full and have to make yourself eat. There are times when you feel hungry but when you eat it only takes a couple of bites to fill you up.

There are many possible side effects of Adipex. Some common side effects are irritability, nervousness, and insomnia. If you experience these side effects you should contact your doctor. Some infrequent side effects are blurred vision, constipation, diarrhea, vomiting, headaches, and irregular heartbeat. If you experience any of these side effects you should discontinue Adipex and call your doctor.

Adipex should not be taken if :

You have taken MAO inhibitors within 2 weeks.
You plan to become pregnant within the time you’re on Adipex.
You have glaucomia.
You have a history of drug or alcohol abuse.
You are allergic to any sympothomimetic or phenylpropanelamine.
You have irregular or rapid heartbeat.

If you have any of the above it is strongly recommended that you don’t take Adipex.

Anyone using Adipex shouldn’t drive or do any major task until you know how you will react to the drug. You shouldn’t consume alcohol while Adipex is in your system. Alcohol will increase the sedation.
