AfrikBoutik: Revealing African Artists to the World

Ever since its founding in 2005 AfrikBoutik has had the goal of improving the lives of African artists by giving them a market to show the rest of the world their work for an appropriate price. In less than a year AfrikBoutik may have surpassed many of these artists’ dreams. Starting in September 2006 over 25 million households will have a chance to see these artists’ work on TV. Sacramento California’s Comcast Channel Two, as well as the America One Network, will show AfrikBoutik’s fall showcase.

Actress Elizabeth Hart will be presenting the company’s fall showcase, which include a silver stone jewelry collection, a unique Fafra Anta Mask, and an African leather designer bag that is in a class of its own, not one of the mass produced rip offs. Like all items sold by AfrikBoutik, all of these come from actual African artists who get to name their own prices and work on their own projects, making their pieces incredibly unique and of an outstanding quality.

AfrikBoutik was founded by Joseph K. Bilson and Rainford B. Legair in 2005 when both felt the desire and need to share Africa’s amazing authentic art with the rest of the world, and to act as a way for the artists to make a quality living. A portion of all profits go back to the artists’ countries to help provide schooling and basic necessities for the children.

The televised display of the fall line is produced by Atlantis Studio Corp. at WXEL’s studios in Palm Beach, Florida. Further information on the broadcast itself can be found at www.afrikboutik.com/fall-showcase.php
