Albany Advances to NCAA Tournament
Cinderella is a Dog! A Great Dane to be specific.
The glass slipper fits – the University of Albany received their first-ever invitation to the NCAA basketball tournament.
It will be a dog fight for sure as the Great Danes meet the Huskies of Connecticut.
UAlbany won it’s first-ever America East Conference championship with an 80-67 victory over Vermont. Along with the trophy came an automatic berth in the NCAA tournament. This is a significant milestone for the basketball program in Albany.
The dance with be a whirlwind of excitement for the Great Danes, but will probably end well before midnight. The Danes are seeded #16 in the Washington DC bracket and will face top-seeded University of Connecticut who many project to become this year’s champion.
