American Idol Contestant Chris Daughtry Rocks the Nation!

American Idol contestant Chris Daughtry is taking the nation by storm! Chris is undoubtedly a topic of conversation on the lips of anyone talking about American Idol but for folks in Greensboro, North Carolina âÂ?¦ it’s not a surprise.

Chris Daughtry is no stranger to a live stage because Chris has been a member of a band that’s not widely known yet, Absent Element consists of Chris as guitarist and lead vocal, Ryan Andrews on bass, Mark Perry on lead guitar and backup vocals and Scott Crawford on the drums.

Although Absent Element isn’t a popular band, this foursome has earned some boast-worthy awards in recent years.

In February of 2004 Absent Element won The Schmoozen Battle of the Bands in Greensboro, later in April they won The Mount Airy Benefit Battle of the Bands at the Mount Airy High School, then in September managed to take home the Hardcore Live Battle of the Bands still pushing on to claim glory taking their spot in the semi-finals for the Zippo Hot Tour in 2005!

Absent Element has been played on Elon University’s radio station and 96.1 FM in Raleigh has largely attributed to a steadily growing fan base for the band.

Rumor has it that Absent Element’s sound ranks with those of previous heavy hitter stature like LIVE. There is no doubt that this group may have a bright future with many followers crazed by a song the band recorded called, “Keep Me Close”.

The group has even performed at some private shows in California, including the hip scene of L.A!

While some folks say Chris is a Christian rocker, others insist that after witnessing a live performance that the band is reaching new heights and after American Idol, who knows where Chris and Absent Element will be?

The answer to that question will largely be contributed to the outcome of American Idol. American Idol contestants in recent years that have taken home the prize have apparently sunk into the cave at home, never to be seen again! Kelly Clarkson has so far been the only exception; she’s gone on to become a major entertainer, earning awards in the industry and is breaking away from the famed beginning of American Idol.

Fans at home had goose bumps last week when Chris Daughtry belted out the Bon Jovi tune “Dead or Alive” and message boards across the Internet have went wild filled with requests and a few predictions about what Chris’s next song choice will be for competition.

The band has a website with touring information, a forum, CD’s and band t-shirts for sale, it’s not likely that anyone will catch Chris browsing around but his band mates are. Fans are cheering on for Chris, posting positive messages and new Chris fans are learning more about the bald wonder from North Carolina with a powerful voice that even grouchy Simon can’t complain about.

Will Simon be happy with Chris’s song selection next week? Can we expect to hear another rock genre selection, maybe Knockin on Heaven’s Door? Will Chris rock viewers even harder in this next round?

We’ll just have to tune in and see!
