America’s Most Beautiful Beaches

A beach is a beach is a beach, right? Not really. If you’ve been to many beaches in your life you already know that. If you rarely go to the beach but are thinking about a beach vacation soon check out the following list of beaches that are among the best in America:

Laguna Beach Laguna Beach, California: Home to many famous movie stars, past and present, Laguna Beach is located in beautiful Orange County. Mainly a resort town now, Laguna beach has it’s share of classy restaurants, beach-side motels and fun-filled activities. The Surf and Sand restaurant, opened in 1948, has seen its share of stars. The Montage Resort and Spa also caters to the rich and famous.

If star-sighting isn’t what you’re looking for take a walk along the main beach boardwalk to see artists’ work or explore the area canyons. See the sea lions at Crescent Bay, shop at antique shops on Coast Highway or snorkel at Diver’s Cove. In the summer there’s the Festival of Arts, the Sawdust Festival, the Art-A-Fair and the Pageant of the Masters. When fall arrives see the Winter Fantasy or a free concert at the beach. The town offers a hundred art galleries and dozens of museums along with water sports of all types and plenty of night life.

Main Beach East Hampton, New York: Another beach that sees quite a lot of America’s elite. Previously an old farming village the place has made major changes since the early 20th century. Enjoy the sight of working windmills from the 1800’s, colonial homes and historical landmarks, and endless forests of white pine. Shopping, celebrity sighting, museums, glamorous restaurants and unforgettable sunsets are only some of the attractions at this, one of America’s – and the world’s – most beautiful beaches.

Newport Beach Newport Beach, California: Newport Beach offers the same things most beaches do: swimming, boating and sunbathing but they also have Davey’s Locker and Spa Gregorie’s. And the Newport Harbor Nautical Museum, featuring a ship model gallery with touch-screen kiosks, is another attraction unique to Newport Beach. Accommodations include the Four Seasons Hotel, Marriott, Hyatt Regency, Radisson, and even the Little Inn by the Bay.

Santa Barbara, California: the beaches in this area give you a small-town feeling with all the features of a great beach: sun, surf, excellent dining nearby, great hotels and unforgettable scenery. Be sure to see the Santa Barbara Zoo and the Santa Barbara Botanical Gardens while you’re in the neighborhood.

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina: Mostly a family resort, Myrtle Beach features putt-putt golf, water parks, parasailing and lots of shopping. The NASCAR speed park is another popular attraction in the area. Then there’s the Ripley’s Aquarium, Carolina Safari Jeep Tours and the famous Myrtle Beach Bike Week.

There are many great beaches in America and most of them offer basically the same thing while at the water but it’s the charm of the town and surrounding businesses that really make the beach trip something special.
