and one of the best schools in the entire nation. The requirements for this specialized school is that a student must live within the 5 boroughs in New York City: Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island,
Bronx
. Students must also pass a specialized exam administered to any student in NYC and achieve a certain score on it to get in. This exam is placement to get into the other special High schools in NYC as well such as

Stuyvesant
High School

and Brooklyn Tech. Once you are admitted to Bronx Science, prepare yourself for the best four years of your life. Everything about the school is exceptionally. From the helpful faculty to the programming and special attention given to students. There is a school run bus transportation that picks up students throughout NYC by bus and brings them to the school in the mourning and drops them off in the afternoon. There is also a train station and bus right next to the school for alternative transportation. Looking at the school, you can see just how much care and pride the school case. A graduating class mural picture is engraved in the school yard which also has food trucks parked outside which await anxious students who have the option of going off campus for food and go to restaurants and stores instead of eating cafeteria food which at the school really isn’t that bad and it is pretty cheap.

The school has a weekly class in which the activities and program for the upcoming week are announced. Students are also allowed to choose classes which are pretty flexible hours and students can choose classes that they are really interested in. The faculty at the school are everything you can hope they would be. They have office hours that students can go to for extra help in their classes or for one-on one free tutoring from their teachers or fellow peers who help out. Classes are a little big, around 25-30 kids in a classroom. However, class discussions are active and all students participate and learn. Grades are important to all students but the school has a 99% graduation rate.

Speaking of graduation, the ceremony for graduating seniors is amazing. Past speakers have included Michael Key who is known as the voice of the Yankees and famous writers. Each student receives a diploma and wears a graduation gown. It really is a great ceremony and last year it took place at the famous

Lincoln
Center

.

The school is constantly putting money back into the school that they receive from private donations. A planetarium was recently built and new televisions were put into all the classrooms as well as a set of new computers.

The administration’s doors are always open for students and special program constantly take place such as music assemblies and guest speakers. The prom is an event all students attend as a social gathering and most of the students are friends with each other.
