Antique Airfield-A Pilot’s Field of Dreams
Antique Airfield is home to the Antique Airfield Association, Inc., the Airpower Museum, Inc., and the APM Library of Flight. All three join forces to preserve and enjoy the amazing history of aviation, focusing on the antique and classic age of airplanes.
The Antique Airfield is a casual place with as much information on antique aviation as one can imagine. You’ll see friendly dogs lounging around and a variety of people whose knowledge of aviation is a rare find. Friendly, casual and approachable, not only will you learn something at Antique Airfield, but you’ll feel right at home.
In the Airpower Museum you’ll find a collection aircraft memorabilia as well as spare engine and aircraft parts. The museum also hosts a large collection of aircraft including many in the classic, antique and modern classification. A variety of these are in working condition and are flown regularly.
The Library of Flight is the newest addition to the Antique Airfield. The facility is home to books, manuals, magazines, films, slides, blueprints and art donated to the APM. There are many things housed in his library that you couldn’t find elsewhere about aviation and its rich history.
Though Antique Airfield offers invaluable information about aviation and its history, it is the people who truly make Antique Airfield a must-visit for aviation enthusiasts. The knowledge, friendliness and laid-back style offer information, comfort and loads of colorful flying stories.
