Anxiety Attack
Not knowing what a panic attack is can be hard to deal with and could result in an emergency room visit, if the person is unaware of how to handle it. Panic attacks can be the scariest thing in the world to the person having one, especially if they don’t know what’s going on. There are many different signs of anxiety. These signs may include; fast heart rate, fear, shaking, heavy breathing, chest pain, stomach aches, puking, or isolation.
Medications can help control anxiety, but a person with an anxiety disorder has to be willing to learn what works without the use of medication too. Medications will reduce symptoms. Breathing is an important part in controlling anxiety or panic attacks. It is told to breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. Positive self talk is a possibility too. Examples are telling yourself that everything is fine or that you will be okay.
Anxiety can just be there. There does not have to be a reason for it to creep up on anyone. A lot of the time people will not know why they are anxious, they just are. Sometimes it’s a certain situation, or a place. It could also be a smell, or a certain object. It can also be as little as a thought that happened to come up.
Having an anxiety disorder can cause problems with your social life. When people are anxious they tend to not hang out with friends or go in public. Fear takes over their life and they either want to be alone or around someone they trust completely.
Understanding why people get any mental illness is sometimes hard. Some people can’t accept it. It is important to listen and try to understand the best you can if someone you love has anxiety problems.
