Archstone Complex in Altamonte Springs, Florida: Apartment Review
I lived at this complex for two years and never had any complaints. The complex was always clean and the leasing staff was always very friendly. Their rates are not the cheapest in town, as we spent $1050 per month for a 2-bedroom apartment, but the convenience, location and friendliness of the complex more than makes up for it. During these 2 years, I had a couple of minor maintenance issues and unlike other complexes, the staff at this complex responded to my problems immediately. Maintenance always treated my issue within 24 hours, no matter how minor the issue was. As far as amenities go, they offer a lake-side pool, a workout facility, a tennis court, balconies/patios on every apartment, and washer and dryer hookups.
This complex is located in a nice part of Altamonte, as there is a lake (Lake Orienta) located right beside the complex. None of the buildings are higher than 2 stories, so you don’t have to worry about having too many neighbors in your building nor do you have to worry about climbing up countless numbers of stairs to move in. My favorite thing about the complex was that they offered 2-story apartments, which is great if you have a roommate. My apartment had an upstairs, where my roommate had his bedroom and his own bathroom. My bedroom, along with everything else, was downstairs. This is great because you don’t have to worry about sleeping in rooms that are right next to each other . . . especially if your roommate or family member has a different sleeping schedule than you do. As far as the community goes, everybody was very considerate of each other and there were rarely any loud or obnoxious tenants to be heard. It seemed that the majority of the tenants were single people and/or married people with no kids, so if you’re not a fan of having hundreds of kids running around your complex, then this place is ideal.
Another perk is the road that it is located on. It is located on a road that is basically only used for residents. There is no heavy or thru-traffic on this street, so you never have to worry about taking a left-hand turn against heavy traffic as you leave for work in the morning!
This complex is VERY convenient to everything. Everything you need is literally less than two minutes away. For groceries, there is a Publix and Albertsons supermarket, both of which are about one minute away. For banking, there is a Bank of America about a minute away. For shopping, the Altamonte Mall is only two minutes away. Inside the mall parking lot is a Seasons 52 restaurant, as well as a Bahama Breeze restaurant and the Altamonte Alehouse, which is a great place for drinks, pool and watching football games. In addition, there is a post office located about 5 minutes away. Go a little further and there is a Wal-Mart, Target, Costco, Home Depot and Sports Authority, all of which are about 8 minutes away. There are also various parks that are just minutes away.
Perhaps the most convenient thing about this location is that this complex is only 3 minutes from Interstate 4, which is ideal if you work in a city outside of Altamonte. Downtown Orlando is only about a 10 minute drive down I-4 from Altamonte. Universal Studios and Disney are about 25 to 35 minutes down I-4. If you want to visit a beach, go the other direction and Daytona Beach is about 35 to 40 minutes up I-4.
