Are Demonic Possessions Real?

Demonic possessions certainly seem to demand attention. It is quite frightening to those who experience another person afflicted. The girl from the movie The exorcist made many a believer. While based on a true story in actuality the girl was really a boy who while visiting his grandmother became aware of a scratching from inside the walls. Soon after, the mattress he was sleeping on exhibited scratching from inside.

The grandmother called a catholic priest who stayed the night beside the boy’s bedside that now had become a sleeping bag upon the floor. An unknown force pulled the sleeping bag across the room as the boy neatly tucked inside lay sleeping. That morning the priest told the grandmother the presence was too much for him to defeat. The family sought help from three catholic priests who like the movie witnessed unworldly things.

Another high-powered movie that drew crowds at the box office was The Amityville Horror. A demon who lived in a well down in the basement of a two story house quickly possessed the husband of the family who moved in after the previous families possessed father murdered his family and then shot himself. This supposedly true story was born a figment of the writer’s imagination.

Movies leave us questioning with what ifs. Television religious networks tell a different story. TBN is a thriving moneymaker calling on the good will of people to help support their cause. Different preachers speak out twenty four hours a day. Some prefer to heal the sick. Benny Hinn is popular among the faith healers. God heals through his hands. Sick people cross his stage to be healed through the power of touch.

Bob Larson, however, is known for demonic cleansing. He challenges the demons by calling them out. He proceeds to ask their name. Some demons are in charge of jealousy while others are in charge of hatred, lust, and greed. One demon may be in command over many. Larson sometimes has to root through lesser demons in order to find the leader. He then uses biblical passages, his bible, and prayer to free the tormented person whose life was in chaos moments before.

Pick a different church to visit in your hometown every week. At least one of them will perform an exorcism. The bible speaks of mentally ill people whose illness was caused by demonic possession. Once the demon was exorcised the person became normal again. When certain people pass by you in the street do you ever feel the hairs on your neck stand up? Could they be possessed? Are you?

The possessed have been known to cause rain to fall inside of buildings. The whites of their eyes may appear as red as the iris. They may smell of rotting corpse and their personality becomes cold and distant. Rage and violence surfaces more frequently. Their voice becomes another as does their laugh. The unknown brings out fear. It’s easier to say a cold-blooded killer is possessed then to say their wiring is different. An anomaly in the gene pool. The bible says demons exist and demonic possessions do take place even in today’s times. It’s really up to the individual to decide what the truth is for them.
