Are You Dallas’ Top Home Chef?

You can prove your culinary skills by entering the Top Home Chef contest sponsored by Jenn-Air Ã?® and Share Our Strength’s Taste of the Nation Ã?®.

The contest will give two home chefs a chance to square off at the Taste’s Dallas, TX event to fight childhood hunger at The Park Place Motorcars on Aug. 27th. The address is 6113 Lemmon Avenue in Dallas. A VIP reception will be held from 6-7 p.m. with 7-10 p.m. general admission following.

From Dallas to Corpus Christi Jenn-Air and American Express is in search of Dallas’ Top Home Chef.

General admission price is $85 and VIP is $125.00. A portion of both admission prices are tax deductible.

The contest opened July 3rd and is a fundraiser to fight child hunger. Beneficiaries include The Wilkinson Center and the North Texas Food Bank.

The Food Bank receives donated surplus food and transfers it in usable quantities to over 400 nonprofit agencies in 13 North Texas counties including Kids Caf�©s, after-school programs, residential treatment programs, food pantries, emergency shelters, soup kitchens, senior citizen centers, low-income daycare centers, and other social service centers.

Entries must be received by July 31st.

National sponsorships of Share Our Strength’s Taste, combined with local sponsorships and contributions from participating restaurants, chefs, and volunteers ensure that 100 percent of ticket proceeds from each event supports anti-hunger efforts.

Semi-finals will be held Aug. 5th at The Maytag Store, 2930 Preston Road in Frisco.

With funds raised through Taste, Share Our Strength awards grants to the most effective anti-hunger, anti-poverty organizations on the local, state, national, and international level.
