Are You Having Problems Getting Pregnant?
Which is terrible for when you are trying to conceive. I went to the doctor and she want to put me on birthcontrol to see if it would straight them out to once a month. I told her no because I looked at it like another delay. Well a year later I still wasn’t pregnant and was scared that there was something really wrong. So I went to another doctor and told him that I wanted to get tested for all the problems of having a child. He said ok and we did all the blood test and ultrasounds and come to find out my ovaries were not ovulating right due to ovarian cyst. Which may have been caused buy the Depo Provera. He said that when you are on the Depo you do not have a period because of horomones that make your ovaries stop ovulating and that you are just going to have to wait or take birthcontrol for 2 to 3 months to see what happens.So I got on the patch and I went on woundering if I was ever going to get pregnant. I was staying depressed all the time.
Here it is 2 years later and I am not pregnant and don’t know what to do or who to believe. Then out of the blue I got pregnant. I don’t know how and didn’t care I was just so happy. I got insurance and made an appointment for my first appointment and I couldn’t wait!! That day was the most depressing day of my life. I went in took a pregnacy test, it came back positive, done the blood work and all the stuff you are suppose to do on your first visit. Then I went in a room and got ready for a ultrasound and couldn’t wait to see the life inside of me. I was so thrilled and couldn’t wait. He started the ultrasound and thats when I knew something was wrong. I was suppose to be 12 along and the baby was only measuring out to be 8 weeks and when the doctor started to look harder he couldn’t find a heartbeat. So he sent me to the hospital for more test and they still could not find a heartbeat. My baby was dead and had been dead for 4 weeks and I didn’t know. The doctor said that it was also probably due to my horomones not being right and that because the Depot Provera could have caused my uterus to be unhealthy due to not having a period.
He ask me if I wanted to have a D and C or if I wanted nature to take it’s course and that he would give me some time to think on it. He said I had a little while because the baby was still high in my uterus. Well I think he gave me to much time because that following weekend I miscarried and It was the most horrifying experience I have ever went through. I felt like I had a 7 lb baby when I didn’t. I wouldn’t wish that pain on anyone. It hurt really bad. Well I went back to the doctor and he told me we would have to wait untill I had a few periods to see what happens. So I did and here we are a year later still not pregnant. He said you already have one child so we know you can get pregnant. Its just taking longer that it should so what I going to do is put you on this medicine called provera and you take it for 5 days and on the 2nd or 3rd day you should start your period. Well I never started.
I called him 14 days later and he said go get a home pregnancy test. So I did and they come out positve. I was so happy but scared at the same time that something was going to happen. I went to my first appointment and everything was great. My pregnancy was by the book and my labor went great and now I have a 9 month old son. So listen to me when I say getting pregnant is harder than it looks. If you are trying to get pregnant and its not happening, give it 6 months and go to the doctor. If that doctor says there is nothing wrong with you get a second opinon because it could be something simple or terrible. Get checked out and keep your appointments. Let your husband know how you feel and that you need him because it is a very depressing rollercoaster and that you need his support. It will happen when you give it time but remember don’t give it to much time because it can be something serious. So make sure you do all the test and all the procedures and hopefully everything will come out right. And if you are wanting to get on the Depot Prover then make sure you read about it really good to know the risk you are taking and the dangers it may cause. It might not be for you. I personally would not reccomend it to no one that would be trying to get pregnant in a year or 2 .
