Avondale/Riverside a Great Place to Live and Relax in Jacksonville

As I stroll along the walking path of Boone Park a historic landmark in the Avondale/Riverside area. A park made up of a ten acre open space with a playground, Girl Scout club house, tennis courts and a pro-shop. I feel the immediate comfort of home. This is the feeling you get in this community. I am not a resident of the Avondale/Riverside community but because of the warm and friendly environment I will drive fifteen minutes away from my neighborhood just to walk their neighboring streets.¯¿½

A brisk walk into the neighborhood led me to a strip of variety shops that is sectioned off on red and orange brick layered sidewalks. The shops are full of people on an early afternoon, eating and shopping while enjoying the historical sites and clean atmosphere. Riverside/Avondale is a historic district that offers middle and upper income taste in residential architecture of late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Significant styles include Bungalow, Colonial Revival and Mediterranean.¯¿½

I tend to walk those paths just so I can feast my eyes on the magnificent houses in the neighborhood. They are gorgeous homes and built in traditional styles. My favorites are the lovely brick and traditional ranch style homes. The prices of these homes can start¯¿½ from $200,000 to very steep prices ranging over $1,200.000.¯¿½ Most of these homes are located near ocean and riverfront areas.¯¿½

You don’t have to travel far to get a taste of what relaxation is all about after a busy week of all work and no play when you are visiting and or living in this community. At night you will dine in the moonlit atmosphere while sounds of smooth jazz play in the background along the streets. It’s an amazing treat. The area is only minutes away from downtown Jacksonville where you can find other featured shopping and dining experiences.
