BEHR Deck, Fence & Siding Wood Stain: A Review
When I got home I cleaned off my porch and began painting with BEHR Deck, Fence & Siding Wood Stain. I was very pleased with the thickness of the BEHR stain. It covered a red with a gray with only one coat! This meant I would have plenty left over for the following years of coverage. Not to mention any touchups I may require though-out the years. I was becoming very impressed with BEHR Deck, Fence & Siding Wood Stain.
Because BEHR Deck, Fence & Siding Wood Stain is a stain I thought it wouldn’t cover as well as it was, it seemed to be more paint like then stain like. Shortly after the stain had dried I realized the problem, and the reason it was covering so well. BEHR Deck, Fence & Siding Wood Stain is not like regular water resistant paint. It’s merely a UV protector of the wood. Though this is a nice thing to have, this is NOT the main reason I buy stain for my front porch. I need it to repel the rain, and snow. Now that it is winter, I can clearly see this is certainly not what I wanted nor needed. My porch now has ice on it where as it never did before. My visitors family, and friends now have to be extremely careful of slipping, and falling where as before this was never an issue. I’m really disappointed in BEHR Deck, Fence & Siding Wood Stain for not repelling rain, and snow. I would have thought because of the price, I was getting everything I needed. Now this coming spring I have to buy a real stain that works on repelling rain.
I would rate BEHR Deck, Fence & Siding Wood Stain a 4 out of 5 stars, had it been for repelling snow, and rain I would have gladly rated it a 5.
