Baby Carrier Tips for Moms

As many women already know by the time you reach the age of thirty you will already begin to experience new aches and pains that you have never felt before. This is especially true if you have children, or are about to have children. What many moms don’t seem to realize is that a lot of the aches and pains that they expeience can be avoided. One of the biggest complaints from moms is the constant back pain. Did you know that baby carriers are the leading cause of back pain in most moms with children? This is according to a study done by many of the countries top researchers. But it is not the carrier’s themselves that are causing the problems, it is actually the fact that they are not being used properly.

You may be thinking that it really is not that complicated, you strap it on and go. But if the straps are not adjusted properly to fit both mom and baby you can be putting a major strain on your back. Of course you probably will not feel it at first, but over time the damage to your back will continue to get worse. This is why many doctors are urging parents to take the time and read the instructions that come with these carriers. Remember just because it looks easy to figure out does not mean that you are using it correctly.

You will also want to keep track of how often you use the baby carrier. It is usually recommended that you do not use them for very long periods of time. This is especially important as your child grows. Remember the heavier your baby gets, the more of a strain it will place on your back. As your child grows you will need to readjust the carrier so that the weight is destriputed evenly. This will make things a lot easier for you and a lot more comfortable for the baby. The most important thing here is to minimize the amount of injury to your back. It will also help to keep in mind that even if you do not feel pain right away over time you definitely will.
