Back to Blockbuster Video: No More Late Fees and How it Really Works
So immediatley I asked “Whats the catch?” to which the attendant replied. “There is no catch sir, just return the movies at your leisure.”
Since when did these people become so nice? I remeber dreading to rent a movie for fear of being hassled about late fees. Well, upon further investigation, I found that there is a bit of a catch, but it is a very resonable one.
How it works is they rent you the movie and it still has a due date.
Lets say the movie is due on thursday. If you do not return it on thursday there is no problem, as long as you renturn it. After 4 days of being late they will call and remind you that the movies is still out.
After 7 days the movie gets charged to the credit card on my account. As long as I return the movie within one month of the time I rented it, Blockbuster will refund the money to my credit card with no questions asked. NO QUESTIONS ASKED!!!
Can you believe it. They have taken the hassle out of movie renting. If I keep the movie beyond a month, the movie is mine to keep, and basically I have purchased the movie at their previewed price. So feel free to go back to Blockbuster stress free. A 30-day rental period sounds like a deadline the laziest of the lazy could meet.
