Barbecue with the Charbroil Quickset Grill

I love to cook on the grill, and I enjoy eating even more. This is my second grill that I’ve owned, and it is the best. When purchasing a grill, you should select one that matches your cooking interests. The Quickset by Charbroil is perfect for my needs:1 large rack with two burners, and two upper swing away racks above. This is a grill for anyone that likes the basics without the side burner and other fancy extras that cost a lot of money.(Most of which are never used enough to justify the high cost!)

Set-up of this grill was so easy I could not believe it. I am not a engineer by any means, and my building skills are barely enough to build a kids model car. However, the set-up for the Quickset took me under a half hour with no tools at all. The instructions are thankfully “dummy proof”, and the pictures are a great reference. Once set-up, I attached a propane tank to the hose and fired it up for the first time.

This grill is so easy to light, and it has electronic ignition that ACTUALLY WORKS! All you have to do is turn the propane tank valve to the on position, and turn the knob to the “fire” position. After five seconds, press the red button and the fire will pop out of the left”master” burner. Then you crank the right burner on which automatically lights. I have never had a problem starting it up with this system, which was not always the case with my old grill. Many of my friends more expensive grills don’t light as effectively, so Charbroil has this aspect down perfectly.

The grate heats up quickly and evenly, with the two burners providing adequate power on even the medium setting. After letting it warm up for about 5 minutes, you are ready to start cooking. The cooking surface is large-you can easily cook 8 hamburgers and 8 hot dogs at the same time on it. The hood accommodates a rotisserie(extra money), and enough height for even the largest roasts. The two shelves(upper rack swing aways) are great for rolls and corn. In just a few minutes your rolls will be toasted, and ready for the condiments.

This grill is very sturdy, and there is no “shaking of the foundation” like other models I’ve used. I have loaded up the two weather resistant shelves with all kinds of stuff, and the grill stays in position without any worries. Cleanup is very simple, as the grate is porcelain. Most of the time I burn off the grill afterwards for easy clean up, but a little soap/water go a long way. Cleanup of the bottom area near the burner is simple as well, with limited obstructions to clearing it out. The excess grease drops out of a hole in the lower middle-I have a coffee can attached to catch this.

Charbroil has a good warranty on this grill, and the cast aluminum top and bottom are covered for life. There is a 3 year warranty for the burners, and one year for other parts. Charbroils website is www.charbroil.com, and their customer service line is 1-800-252-8248. Their warranty line is 1-800-241-7548, and their address is PO BOX 1240 Columbus, GA 31902-1240. If you want easy and delicious recipes to get you started, their website has a good amount of them. The instruction manual also comes with 12 recipes that are mouth watering as well. I fully recommend this product, and its the best $150 I ever spent!
