Best Mistake I Ever Made
The best mistake I ever made happened when I was finishing my senior year of college in Oklahoma. I was a 4 year starter on my college basketball team, and I was shown interest to play professionally in Europe. My mother had been through battle of breast cancer with multiple breast surgeries. I couldn’t see myself going that far away just to play ball. Instead, I moved to Texas, and found film acting. Since, that day about 8 years ago, I have done 15 films. I have played a gay man, a car thief, a father whose baby was still born, a drug dealer, etc. I have played them without prejudice or bias. I found, for me, what it means to be Christ-like (walking in others shoes). Do I miss basketball? If I would have gone, my soul would be different. So, that was “The Best Mistake I Ever Made!”
