Bio of Jenna Fischer from NBC’s The Office

Jenna Fischer plays the role of Pam Beesly in NBC’s successful new comedy, “The Office.” Pam Beesly is the office receptionist. Jenna Fischer was also a receptionist herself before she took the role of Pam Beesly. She worked for many years in the business world as both a receptionist and an administrative assistant. As the receptionist on “The Office” she is continually barraged by the office boss’s self-gratifying attempts at humor in the work place. The boss is played by well-known comedian Steve Carell.

Fischer was born on March 7, 1974 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Fischer grew up in Saint Louis, Missouri. Her full name is Regina Marie Fischer. She began acting at age 5 in a class taught by her mother. She participated in acting classes at the young age and began to learn her trade. She attended Narinx Hall High School. Fischer attended college at Truman State University. She received a Bachelor of Arts in theater. She is married to director and writer James Gunn. James Gunn is the brother to television actor Sean Gunn from the popular show “Gilmore Girls.” Fischer met her husband through Sean Gunn. She and Sean took acting classes together when they were children.

Fischer has recently written and directed a feature film entitled “Lollilove.” It is a mockumentray created on a minimal budget of $1500. Fischer received the Tromadance Independent Soul Award at the American Film Market for “Lollilove.” Fischer stars in the film alongside Judi Greer, James Gunn, and Linda Cardellini. Fischer was also awrded the Screen Actors Guild Emerging Actor Award for her work with “Lollilove.” “Lollilove” has already been released to DVD.

Fischer has also guest-starred on HBO’s hit “Six Feet Under,” “Cold Case,” “That 70’s Show,” “Strong Medicine,” ” Undeclared,” “Spin City,” “What I Like About You,” and “Off Center.” She also guest starred in “Miss Match” alongside Alicia Silverstone.

On the big screen Jenna Fischer has worked as an actor on “Lucky 13,” “The Specials,” and Employee of the Month.” Her most recent work was son the set of a horror movie from Universal Pictures named “Slither.”
