Bio of Katie Holmes; Ohio Born, Girl Next Door

Katie Holmes is just an ordinary Ohio born girl who has some of her dreams come true. Katie was born in northwestern Ohio in the city of Toledo she is the youngest in a family of five children of Kathleen and Martin Joseph Holmes, Sr., an attorney who specializes in divorces. Her high school was the all-female Notre Dame Academy in Toledo Ohio, her mother’s alma mater, where Katie was a 4.0 student.

Katie Holmes made her feature debut in the acclaimed “The Ice Storm” (1997) and a regular series role on the popular teen drama Dawson’s Creek as Joey Potter from 1998 to 2003. The part on the show, only her second professional role, made Holmes a star.

Katie as a young girl told people she would one day marry Tom Cruise. I bet they never believed this would happen. But now Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise are engaged and parents of a beautiful baby girl.

On April 18 2006, Holmes gave birth to a daughter, Suri, in a Southern California hospital. The Times reported that Cruise released statement after the birth saying the name is a word with origins in both Hebrew and Persian. In Hebrew it means ‘princess,’ and in Persian, ‘red rose’.

Speculation that the relationship was a publicity stunt was talked about everywhere, especially after Tom Cruises I love Katie Holmes visit to “The Oprah Winfrey Show” in which Cruise jumped on the furniture and indulged in acting silly and exclaiming how much he was in love with Katie.

I saw that episode of Oprah I didn’t think it was a publicity stunt, I thought it was very sweet and honest of Tom to confess his love in such a public way. Don’t we all wish someone we love who loves us would go to that extreme to show everyone the way they feel?

Well, now Katie is a well-known popular actress, she has the love her life and a beautiful baby girl. Her life is on a track to a great success story.
