Bissell Cleanview II: Bagless Upright Vacuum
I’ve owned a Hoover and a Dirt Devil. I’ve had bagged and bagless vacuums and I’ve owned upright and canisters. I have to say though, the Bissell Cleanview II is the best I’ve owned so far.
This vacuum came to me at a time when I was only using a Hoover Canister Vacuum. It was working well, but in a two story townhouse, carrying it up and down the stairs was proving to be challenging. My complaining eventually paid off and one sunny day, the UPS man brought the new Bissell to my front door. My husband had ordered it online as a surprise. It worked.
I immediately started ripping at the box. A new vacuum to me is as good as jewelry. Within minutes, I was plugging in the vacuum and running it through my living room. I flipped the switch and opened the container to see what dirt it had picked up. (Can’t do that with a bagged vacuum.) I was amazed. I had vacuumed the night before with the Hoover, but this container was full of dust. Knowing how much more it picked up, I ran it through the whole house. Again, I was amazed when I opened the container. It was completely full and being the neat freak I am, I was appalled at what was being left in my carpet by the other vacuum.
The Bissell Cleanview II has twelve amps of power, seven height adjustments, dual edge cleaning, and onboard tools. The hose is attached to the vacuum on the side and there is an extension for that as well as an attachment that turns so you can either use a brush or not use one when vacuuming with the attachment. This vacuum was around $140 with shipping.
I still live in a townhouse and I carry the Bissell up and down the stairs now. I feel like it pulls more dirt so even though it’s not easy on my back, I do it anyway. I now reserve the Hoover Canister for other jobs, such as vacuuming the car. I bought a Bissell for my sister for Christmas. It wasn’t a Cleanview II, but it was a bagless model and she loves it very much. I’ve had this vacuum for a little over a year now and I’ve had no problems nor have I had to replace any parts.
I have only two small complaints. The hose for the attachments could be just a little longer. It’s a little awkward to use. Also, the filters seem like the need cleaned quite a bit. (about every two weeks) Hard to complain about that though since I’m not having to buy bags. Those are the only two things I would change about the Bissell Cleanview II and I recommend it as being a great vacuum for the money.
