Bose 321 Home Entertainment System Review

The Bose 321 GS Home Entertainment System is a good alternative for people considering a home theater system. I purchased my Bose 321 system about four months ago and thoroughly enjoy it. It produces a great home theater sound without the center and rear speakers, and without all those wires.

Bose is well known for their reputation as a leader in quality audio products and the 321 does not disappoint. It gives you a complete home theater system that’s not complicated and is easy to set up.

The system includes the Bose media center, two small and sleek Gemstone satellite speakers, the Accoustimass bass module and a remote control. That makes up the entire system. It’s much simpler than home theater systems you are probably used too.

The media center comes with a progressive scan DVD/CD player, an AM/FM tuner and additional inputs for other video and audio accessories like video game systems and ipods.

The speakers are extremely easy to set up. The speaker wire is basically a y-cable that you simply plug in and peel apart to the length you need. You can mount the speakers on walls, stands or leave sitting on your entertainment center. Whatever works for you in your space. My speaker wires are barely noticeable compared to my previous Sony system, which had speaker wires running all over my family room.

As far as the home theater sound goes, unless you are an audiophile, I don’t think that you will notice a big difference between the Bose 321 and a 5 speaker system. The Bose 321 gives you a powerful surround sound without the rear speakers that is very comparable to a 5 speaker system.

The sound effects I get when watching DVD’s match what I used to experience with my Sony system. Even my video games when played through the 321 produce an awesome sound.

Listening to CD’s and the AM/FM radio is just as satisfying. There is no drop off in quality compared to other units I’ve previously owned.

The only thing I did not like when I got the Bose 321 was that there was no eject button on the remote that came with my system. Not a big deal, but it is an inconvenience.

Overall, I’m extremely pleased with my Bose 321 Home Entertainment System. It generates a convincing three dimensional sound that fills the entire room. It’s an easy to use system that’s simple to set up and eliminates that unsightly tangled speaker wire mess.
