Braun AromaDeluxe Coffeemaker-Product Review

I purchased a Braun AromaDeluxe coffeemaker three months ago. Until I found the Braun AromaDeluxe, I was getting frustrated. All I wanted was an affordable coffeemaker with a sleek design that didn’t require “programming” or offer a ton of extra features that I was never going to use. Was that too much to ask? After weeks of walking up and down store aisles, I was beginning to think so.

Finally, I saw the Braun AromaDeluxe coffeemaker on display at Bed, Bath, and Beyond, and I knew my search for an affordable coffeemaker was over. The Braun AromaDeluxe comes in black or white; I chose white, since my kitchen is small and dark appliances only make it look smaller. I never thought I could be so impressed by a hunk of plastic, but I have to say that the Braun AromaDeluxe has a sleek, modern design that’s very appealing. It doesn’t have extra features such as a built-in coffee grinder or espresso machine, which is why it’s an affordable coffeemaker and a space-saver as well. The Braun AromaDeluxe just makes coffee-that’s it.

The Braun AromaDeluxe coffeemaker couldn’t be easier to use. It seems to have been designed with the clumsy, half-awake, caffeine-starved consumer in mind. My favorite feature is the big, rubber-coated carafe handle. I’ve broken more than one coffee carafe in my life, and even I would have to be something less than half-awake to find this one slipping out of my hand. The carafe is the perfect size for a two-person household. It can make up to 10 small cups (4.4 ounces per cup) if you’re having guests over, but it’s not so enormous that you feel silly making coffee for two. I fill the water to the “5” line, which makes enough to fill two average-sized (10 ounce) coffee mugs. If you’re really dying for that first hit of morning caffeine, as I usually am, the Braun AromaDeluxe coffeemaker has a “pause and serve” feature which allows you to remove the carafe and sneak a sip before the whole batch has finished brewing.

Everything about the Braun AromaDeluxe coffeemaker is worry-free. It comes with a drop-in water filter cartridge that reduces chlorine, which improves the coffee’s flavor. The filter also prevents calcification buildup, which extends the life of the coffeemaker. Set the “water filter exchange dial” ahead two months, and you’ve got an easy way to remember when you’re supposed to change the filter. The swing-out filter basket can accommodate a gold tone filter or a number 4 paper filter. You push a large turquoise button, and out pops the basket. Then you’re ready for the feature that really sold me on the Braun AromaDeluxe: a big on/off button. No matter how sleepy you are, you really can’t get confused.

If all you want is a sleek-looking, easy-to-use, affordable coffeemaker without a lot of bells and whistles, the Braun AromaDeluxe coffeemaker just might be what you’ve been looking for.
