Bush Implicated in Leaking of Intelligence

According to court papers filed by Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald, apparently “Scooter” Libby, under indictment for perjury, obstruction of justice, and lying to the FBI apparently thought he was being accused of leaking classified info also. And to defend him from that, his law team is seeking more documents. When replying to them, Mr. Fitzgerald reminded that “Scooter” told a federal grand jury that he received “approval from the President through the Vice President.” The papers go on to say that conversations between “Scooter” and New York Times reporter Judith Miller happened “only after the Vice President advised defendant that the President specifically had authorized defendant to disclose certain information in the NIE.” (defendant is good ole Scooter, and NIE is National Intelligence Estimate)

Bush and company have denied repeatedly denied any knowledge of the leaks, and the President has even said that the person leaking would be dealt with. Ok, Mr. President, take care of it…RESIGN!

The far right talking heads are rushing to the President’s defense, saying he has the power to declassify information. And of course, he does. There are normal procedures for doing that, and those procedures were not followed. And it is a very disingenuous argument at best. The intent is not to allow for declassification purely for political purposes. And from an Administration that doesn’t release any information, saying they are looking out for national security. So was Joe Wilson, and so was Valerie Plame, Mr. President. Have you no shame at all?

It seems to be getting hard to keep up with everything that is wrong with this Administration. C’mon America, let’s together, in one loud voice, tell them “Enough Already!!!)
