Cannonball Thoughts
My thoughts of sin in passion
have traded themselves in,
salt for sugar,
Hoping to rid themselves of their black powder
like cannonballs crashing against a boat’s side
freeing themselves from their bound shells of denial
and becoming but smoke and fire for all to see
have traded themselves in,
salt for sugar,
Hoping to rid themselves of their black powder
like cannonballs crashing against a boat’s side
freeing themselves from their bound shells of denial
and becoming but smoke and fire for all to see
Only when many of the cannonballs
are persistently fired and accurately blasted
can the ship of evil that holds such power over me finally be sunk
