Cape Cod Campresort and Cabins: A Guest’s Review

Location of Cape Cod Campresort and Cabins

Cape Cod Campresort and Cabins is located off the beaten path, at 176 Thomas Landers Road in East Falmouth, Massachusetts. It’s tucked away in the scenic Cape Cod Country side, yet close to area attractions (and Wal-Mart and Shop-and-Save).

Amenities at Cape Cod Campresort and Cabins

For starters, Cape Cod Campresort and Cabins has three pools and a hot tub. There is a large family pool with a slide and a wading pool in a fenced in area on the upper tier of the hilly terrain. Below that, there is an adults- only pool and hot tub fenced in on a lower tier. The adults-only pool is 21 and over, which creates a quiet and peaceful atmosphere for adults to relax in.

There’s also a playground, basket ball court, and horseshoe pit on one side of the tier below the family pool. The ground is sunken (in what could be used as a cranberry bog) creating another tier below the playground. I saw this big, open, grassy area being used for playing catch, throwing Frisbees, and even for racing remote control cars.

A clubhouse is located one tier above the family pool. The clubhouse offers pool tables in the main room, and a separate video game room for kids. They have entertainment on the clubhouse patio on Saturday nights. (The Saturday that we were there, they featured an illusionist.)

The most popular place for my son and his friend was, without doubt, the beach. Cape Cod Campresort and Cabins borders a small pond. They have a sandy beach there with a section buoyed off for swimming. There are rowboats and paddle boats for rent at the pier- the same pier that’s used for fishing. There’s also a beach volleyball court set up down there, too. The campgrounds are fairly large, so they’ve included room for parking in case you want to drive down.

Wi-fi is available in the office, and on the covered deck next to the office. There is a small store in the office building. The store has everything from camp essentials (ice, fire wood, WD-40) to souvenirs, treats, and limited groceries.

The camp site(s) at Cape Cod Campresort and Cabins

The information on their website said that a “small” campsite accommodates two tents and two vehicles. Perfect! Instead of renting two hotel rooms, we can set up two tents. This would give us parents enough privacy, without being too far away from the kids.

I was concerned that the site would only hold two tents and two vehicles (we pulled a trailer full of gear), so I made it clear that we may have to put some careful planning into how we set up our campsite. We were more than surprised to find that our “small site” was about 30 feet by 30 feet! It was more than enough room for our stuff, with room left over for the kids to play Frisbee.

The small sites have a water spigot and electricity. The electrical outlet is the size that pop-up campers require. (Oops! Who knew?) The office lent us an adapter so that we could plug our coffee pot (can’t go anywhere without it) and clock/radio in. There was no charge for the adapter, we were just asked to return it when we left.

The bathrooms at Cape Cod Campresort and Cabins

Isn’t that what everyone wants to know about a campground? The bathrooms at Cape Cod Campresort and Cabins are first-rate. As it turns out, the bath-house closest to our campsite was re-modeled last year. It had four toilets in the ladies’ room, and three shower stalls. (I wondered if there would be lines, but there weren’t. There are two other bath-houses on premises.)

The shower stalls were (I’m pleased to say) fiberglass- just like something you’d see in a home- not cinder block, as I had been expecting from a campground. (But wait, this is a “campresort”, so I should have known better.) The showers are not “metered”, nor are they on the “pull-string” method. You can turn it on and stand under it, just like at home. Of the four of us, no one ever ran out of hot water the entire time we were there.

There are three sinks in the ladies room with a wall mirror above them and electrical outlets on the wall. Opposite of the sinks, there is a large counter below another wall mirror, so there was plenty of room for fixing hair and make-up.

The bathrooms are extremely clean! Ours was closed for cleaning every day at 7 am, and a few times it was closed later in the day to be cleaned again.

The staff at Cape Cod Campresort and Cabins

The staff at Cape Cod Campresort and Cabins is so friendly! They do everything but hug you at check-in.

The bathroom attendants greet you with a smile and let you know when the bathroom is closed for cleaning and where the other bathrooms are located.

Cape Cod Campresort and Cabins has a “host”, who is actually more of a concierge. He will recommend area attractions, give you directions (which he highlights on a map that you take with you), and provide discount coupons for some of the attractions.

Rating and Recommendations for Cape Cod Campresort and Cabins

On a scale of 1- 10, I rate Cape Cod Campresort and Cabins a 10! The grounds are beautiful and clean, there’s plenty to do on-site, it’s a short drive to many Cape Cod area attractions, the campsites are roomy, and the staff is wonderful!

I would recommend that you book early, though. I called four months in advance, and of the five vacation weeks that I have off over the summer, only one week was available. Reservations can be made by calling (508) 548-1458 or (800) 865-3829, or visiting www.capecampresort.com.
