Cape Girardeau Serves Up Nightlife for SEMO Students
There is no better place to start than downtown Cape Girardeau.
No place in Cape Girardeau is more frequented by the twenty-somethings than Mollie’s Cafe and Bar. If you prefer to have your wild times in the middle of the week, you’ll be amazed by the Nightly Chef Features, featuring the French and Continental cuisine they are famous for. If you are looking for a good hand-cut steak, look no further. The night wouldn’t be complete however, without a trip to Mollie’s famous lounge. The drinks start flowing at quitting time, and don’t stop until 1:30. This isn’t your typical watering hole, you will need to dress to impress.
Next on the list is Rude Dog’s Pub. Bring your jeans, your tennis shoes, and wear your favorite hat, because you’ll fit right in. Starting with two dollar drink specials, and a large assortment of imported and domestic beers, as well as any liquor you can think of, a trip to Rude Dog’s will have you calling a cab home. Don’t let the appearance surprise you, you’ll find anyone from bank executives to SEMO baseball players in part of the always large crowd at Rude Dog’s.
If the billiard player in you is just screaming to get out, you have quite a few options. The typical pool hall’s in town are the Billiard Center, and Breakaways. Either one of these places will serve you a cold beer, and you won’t be waiting for a table at either place. Cape’s best kept secret however, won’t be a secret for long. From a glimpse, Pockets seems to be your average ordinary hole in the wall pool hall. Starting August 1, that all changes. Pockets is moving from its cramped, old building, into a newly renovated site to be seen. With room to have twice the pool tables, and still enough space remaining for two bars, a DJ, and a dance floor, Pockets is quickly going to be the place to be. Fridays and Saturdays are filled with drink specials including one dollar domestics, and starting August 1, anyone who is anyone, will be at Pockets.
Your time in Cape Girardeau could not be complete without a trip, or two, or ten, to Cape’s biggest hit. Buffalo Wild Wings has never seen a slow night in Cape Girardeau. If you are a Cardinals fan (and you can’t be in Southeast Missouri long without becoming one), you never have to miss a single pitch. With over fifty TV’s spread througout the restaraunt, and a VIP room complete with fifteen 32 inchers, and one giant screen that takes up the whole wall, you will have a better seat than some of those sitting in the stadium. Too many drink specials to count, and the right combinations of food make Buffalo Wild Wings the hot-spot of Cape Girardeau.
There are many other places you can go for a good time in Cape Girardeau, but there really aren’t any places that you could have quite as good a time as these.
