Cheyenne, Wyoming, Airport Shuttle Service to and from Denver International Airport

Currently, Cheyenne, Wyoming, has two companies offering airport shuttle service to and from Denver International Airport (DIA). Shamrock Airport Express will pick up folks in Cheyenne, and take them to and from DIA via scheduled shuttle service. Impression Shuttle and Limousine of Cheyenne will do the same thing, but their airport service is an “on-demand” service. Reservations with both companies are highly recommended, especially for Impressions, since it’s “on-demand”. Passengers with reservations are given top priority over walk-ons with Shamrock.

Shamrock Airport Express will be discussed more in detail: Shamrock does not offer non-stop service to DIA, nor does it offer door-to-door service for Cheyenne. Travelers must either choose the Hitching Post or the Holiday Inn hotels to leave from and return to.

The shuttle will make a stop in Fort Collins, Colorado. Travelers and their luggage must then get on another bus en route to Denver’s air hub, stopping in Loveland and Longmont to get more passengers. The total time to DIA will range from 2 to 2.5 hours in duration, depending upon traffic and how many people are riding the shuttle, because the more people riding means it will take the driver longer to load and unload the luggage. The drivers are basically friendly and helpful, and signs on the bus say that tips are appreciated. They make the appropriate stops to each airline drop off point in the DIA terminal.

The costs are as follows, each way: Adults: $34; Children 12 & Under: $8; Child on lap: Free. Extras: Pets in carriers are $10 each pet except for animals assisting the disabled, which aren’t charged; skis are $3 per pair; golf clubs are $3 per set; and boxed bikes are $10 each. Two pieces of luggage plus one carry on are free. Excess luggage is $3 per bag.

Wheelchair access is available, too, but it’s highly recommended to call at least 24 hours in advance so a wheelchair-accessible van will be able to pick up the wheelchair bound traveler(s).

Here’s a rundown on the scheduled pick-ups from Cheyenne to Denver International Airport going southbound every day of the week. Shamrock recommends being at DIA at least 1.5-2.0 hours before a domestic flight, and 2.5-3.0 hours before an international flight:

Here’s the return from Denver International Airport back to Cheyenne via Fort Collins. Shamrock recommends a traveler’s flight arriving with checked luggage at least 40 minutes before the shuttle leaves the airport (add 1 hour for international arrivals). One has to then pay for their one way ticket back to Cheyenne at the Shamrock Airport Express Service Booth, located at DIA’s Ground Transportation area (in the center of the terminal near the baggage claim areas). Cheyenne-bound travelers must go to Door 504, Island 5 to get picked up. Shamrock drivers won’t sell a roundtrip ticket in Cheyenne but do take MasterCard, Visa, American Express or Discover, besides cash or local checks for DIA-bound trips. Travelers may call in or book online one way or round trip reservations, but pay at the time of service.

Coming back to Cheyenne, the airport shuttle will stop in Longmont, Loveland, and Fort Collins. It’s in Fort Collins where Cheyenne-bound travelers will change airport shuttles for the final leg home.

Now Impression will be covered: They offer on-demand curbside service 24/7, which runs non-stop all the way to DIA. It takes about 1.5 hours. The cost for transport to/from DIA is more expensive for the convenience: $99 each way per adult, $49.50 for children 12 and under. Pets in carriers are $15 each, but animals helping the disabled are offered free passage. No extra charges for luggage like skis, bikes, or golf clubs, but when making a reservation with them, it’s best to let them know how many are in your party and an estimate of your luggage pieces so they can bring the appropriate vehicle to your curbside. Their transports aren’t wheelchair accessible yet, but depending on the type of wheelchair or scooter one has, they may still be able to work something out getting chair/scooter-bound travelers to/from DIA. Call or email for details. Contact information is below.

For domestic flights, Impression recommends leaving town 3.0-3.5 hours before your flight departure, and add another hour to that for international departures. Visa and MasterCard accepted.
