Chinese Restaurants Near Somerville, NJ

If you have a yen for Chinese food there are a number of options located within a reasonable distance of the Somerville circle… In fact, there seem to be so many choices, that I have decided to clue you in about three of the best .(and my personal favorite).. Whether you can not live without good wonton, tasty dim sum or tangy lemon chicken, you have come to the right place..Try any of these three choices and you are sure to be pleased.

My first recommendation goes to Liu’s Garden. It can be found at 990 Route 202 South in Branchburg.
Liu’s is open seven days a week till 10:30 pm. Great for satisfying a late night craving. Do not let the casual atmosphere fool you. They are serious about good food. If you go for spicy dishes, do not miss their prawns in chili sauce. It will wake your mouth up for under ten dollars..The gai kew steak is also highly recommended. Vegetarian? Try the Buddhit’s delight for under six dollars..The portions are generous and they are open to special requests.

Another great spot to tickle your taste buds is the Great Wall at one east somerset street in Raritan..
You would not call this a fancy dining hall but the food will more than make up for it. Simply, once you have had thier food,
you will not care. A word of caution, if an item is marked as spicy, take them at thier word. Should you tell them you want it “extra spicy” have plenty of water at hand.! They aim to please, so some may want to request “just a bit spicy”. Thier orange flavor beef is a must try for “spicy” fans..For those who want something a bit more sedate , I recoommend they try dragon meets phoenix, a lovely blend of sweet and sour chicken and lobster. Vegetarians are offered various types of veggie combos with or without bean curd.

I have saved my personal favorite for last.. It is the Kosher Chinese Kitchen at 2442 Main Street in Manville. This is a sit down family style place. It does a brisk business and there is a reason. The food is excellent. I have simply never had a bad anything here. Not to mention, in my humble opinion, thier wonton is the best I have had in this state. It’s just salty enough and oh so flavorful.. Thier lemon chicken has a breading that is just right. Dishes featuring vegetable and meat mixes do not skimp on the protien. How can I recommend specific dishes? They are all good. Do not miss this one. Of course, since this is a kosher establishment, you will not find shrimp on the menu and they are not open late Fridays. Go anyway!. You will be happy you did.
