Are the ever changing clouds
that pass overhead
the same ones
he has seen?
They carry the rain
from this lake of glass
where I sit thinking
of his smile.

As the sun sets
in the distance
I want my thoughts to travel
to places
that I’ve never been,
and reach out to find
the one
I’m thinking of,
as the stars
begin to shine.
A clear starry sky
and a full spring moon
take me
to a distant place
long ago.
This place is a feeling
time and fate
took away –
the winds
have brought it to me
once more.
Is my soul mate
seeing the same stars as I,
and feeling my thoughts
on the breeze?
Has the sun
even set
to brighten the stars
