Come to Cary’s Lazy Daze Arts and Crafts Festival

For almost 30 years the Lazy Daze Arts and Crafts Festival has been held in Downtown Cary, North Carolina. It is held every year on the fourth Saturday in August. Cary is a beautiful city located just outside the capital city of Raleigh, North Carolina.

The festival annually brings in more than 50,000 people and more than 400 artisans from all over the country who show their wares and sell their beautiful handiwork. The festival is a daylong affair with two stages set up to provide nonstop live entertainment. There are plenty of things to do for the kiddies and an abundance of food stands including fare from some of the local restaurants. There are clean restroom facilities available within walking distance to anywhere you happen to be. The entire festival area is handicap accessible.

Lazy Daze is one of the largest festivals of its kind in the southeast. Upon arrival it can be quite overwhelming. There is so much to see and do, you’ll need hours to get through all the booths to see everything. The artists in attendance are all friendly and eager to talk about their crafting techniques and wares.

The craftsmanship is outstanding. You can find handmade goods of every variety including jewelry, pottery, home decor, clothing, holiday ornaments, leather, wood crafting, metal work, carvings, paintings, you name it and you will find someone there who does it, and does it to perfection. Most of the artisans can provide you with brochures and pamphlets that allow you to purchase their artwork long after the show is over and have it delivered right to your door, so there’s no need to worry about carrying a heavy work of art around with you all day.

The town of Cary makes it very easy to get to the festival by providing shuttle buses from the nearby shopping mall, the Cary Towne Center, where there is plenty of free parking. For out of town visitors, the Amtrak station in Cary is one block away from the festival entrance making your arrival and departure easy and fail-proof.

If you enjoy making, learning about, or shopping for arts and crafts or even if you are just looking for a really neat way to spend a day, come to the Lazy Daze Arts and Crafts Festival in Cary, NC. You won’t be disappointed.
