Concert Review: Star Studded Fashion Rocks Doesn’t Live Up to the Hype

Fashion Rocks took place last night and will air on CBS(9/8) at 9p.m. Overall the show was a disappointment. The show started with a duet consisting of Christina Aguilera and Elton John. It was an enjoyable performance. Kanye West was suppose to perform, but instead he came on stage and said we are going to make history.

He then left the stage and Mr.Bently performed the whole time. So basically anyone looking to see Kanye must of left disappointed. I should get a refund for fraud. Beyonce and Jay-z gave a good performance, but nothing out of the ordinary. Beyonce came out wearing a skirt made of bananas, she looked nice but had a little too much makeup on. Jay-Z came out with nothing spectacular on and didn’t give an exciting performance.

I think there was a lack of energy from the crowd that took away from the performance. Rihanna made her entrance on the hood of an expensice car but had a performance that didn’t have anything that was memorable. The Black Eyed Peas and Pussycat Dolls were entertaining. Christina Aguilera’s initial performance with Elton John was nice but I didn’t really enjoy her solo performance.

Jamie Foxx performance was weak in my opinion, singing to mannequins was definitely a bad move. Nelly Furtado came out and started good, but instead of singing a song we all know she sang her hit, “Promiscuous Girl,” for a minute and then did a song no one knew. The crowd was about over 90 percent white, so they all went crazy when Bon Jovi, Tim Mcgraw (he tripped) and Faith Hill came out.

The breaks between performances seem to take forever, they were occupied by a comedian who got boring real quick. Although there was a nice lineup, the fact that their performances were so brief and some people chose not to sing popular songs took away from the show. Overall the show was pretty much lackluster and definitely something your better off watching at home. On the bright side the money from ticket sales went to charity.
