Confinement
Open the windows
let the light in
the sun is singing
to outcast the din
let the light in
the sun is singing
to outcast the din
hours upon hours
stuck in this room
blaring electricity
suffocating gloom
outside, the freedom
airy, like birds
inside–the books
molding us nerds
shades are criminal
throw them away
deceit of beauty
blocking out day
deception of time
darkness or light
open the liars
let in the bright!
can not compare
God’s masterpiece
blue bright skies
picture of peace
to that of white walls
filtered air, stale
boxed up, prisoned
building of ail
trees can not grow
in concrete, in brick
flowers won’t sprout
through tile floors thick
clocks are ticking
echoing halls shout
this place of confinement
oh please let me out!
