Contradictions in the Bible – Look Before You Leap

The Bible is one of the oldest books known to man. For generations, people have prayed to an invisible god out of the fear they will face eternal damnnation if they question him or any of his scripture.

I am the type of person who believes “Do what ye will, but harm none.” This is simple enough-treat other people the way you want to be treated, and karma will not come back and bite you in the butt. Yet, some people believe in the power of self (Buddhism), and this is okay because a person has a right to believe whatever makes them feel best.

One thing that isn’t right is when someone who is Christian throws their beliefs in someone’s face and claims if everyone doesn’t follow God, they will not go to Heaven. This is funny for the simple fact if they would read the Bible all the way through and discover how many times it contradicts itself, they may find that not a single person on the Earth is bound for “everlasting life.”

The Bible was written over and over again throughout the decades. Plus, no one knows how many books or important points were changed during this process. I was once told the Bible was the Book of God. I do not believe this for many reasons. The first being I don’t believe in fairy tales, and the second being the fact that God was supposed to be selfless and non-violent, yet at the same time the Bible is filled with violence and instructions on who should be destroyed. The Bible also says, “Thou shalt not kill.” Does this make any sense? Actually it does. This kind of book is why the world is so separated because it is basically telling people that if someone is different to do away with them. And God is supposed to be love? I don’t think so. All of the people out there who feel the Bible is the greatest thing in the world had better stop and read their scripture before praying to a God who tells people stuff like that.

To be honest, if God is anything like this, I would rather go somewhere else for the simple fact it would be just like here on Earth, which is if you don’t conform to what everyone else says is right, you are cast out like yesterday’s trash. Some eternity.
