Crafts with Toilet Paper Rolls
T.P. Bird Feeder
You will need: an empty T.P. roll, creamy peanut butter, butter knife, yarn or fishing line, bird seed, a plate and a pencil.
With the pencil, poke two holes in one end of the toilet paper roll. Cut a six inch length of yarn or fishing line, thread it through the holes and tie a knot. This makes the hanger. Spread the peanut butter all over the outside of the T.P. roll. Pour ½ to 1 full cup of bird seed in the plate. Roll the peanut butter covered tube in the bird seed until the entire surface is covered in seed. Hang your feeder in a tree and watch the birds come for their treat!
T.P. Maracas
You will need: an empty T.P. roll, dried beans, cloth, hot glue gun with glue sticks, rubber bands, decorations (construction paper, glitter, markers, ect.)
Cut out two- three inch circumference circles from the cloth. Cover one end of the T.P. roll with one cloth circle and wrap a rubber band around the cloth to secure it to the roll. Use the hot glue gun to seal the cloth to the card board. Pour in 1/3 cup of dried beans and cover the other end of the T.P. roll with the other cloth circle. Seal with glue gun. Once the hot glue has dried you can decorate the maraca however you would like. Make several maracas and start a band!
T.P. Flower Vases
You will need: an empty T.P. roll, decorations (paint, markers, construction paper, glue, glitter, ect.), small stones, artificial flowers.
Cut a three inch diameter circle from the construction paper. Glue it securely to one end of the T.P. tube. Let the glue dry. Decorate the outside of the tube with paint, glitter, cut-outs, or anything you think will make a beautiful vase. Make sure all the paint and or glue has dried. Fill the T.P. tube Ã?½ full with small rocks to weight the vase down. Fish rocks work well for this. Add your favorite artificial flowers to complete your masterpiece. These make great mother’s day gifts and table centerpieces.
