Cut Blood Sugar with Vinegar
This is where the benefits of vinegar come in. Vinegar helps to alleviate the high blood sugar levels. Studies have shown that when given two tablespoons of vinegar just before a meal, there was a 25 percent drop in blood sugar levels when given the vinegar appetizer to diabetics as opposed to not being given vinegar. Those with pre diabetes, which means people who are prone to developing diabetes through a serious of tests, seem to also benefit from the effects of vinegar. Studies show that those with pre diabetes conditions were given the same vinegar appetizer test just before their meals. Their blood sugar dropped nearly 50 percent.
The effects of vinegar on cutting down blood sugar may be comparable to the effects of a diabetic drug. However, diabetics should never rely on just vinegar in controlling or lowering their blood sugar. Studies have not shown that vinegar has any effect on cutting blood sugar at other times or on a 24-hour basis. The fact that vinegar helps cut or reduce blood sugar levels is a very optimistic outlook in helping those with both those with diabetes and those with pre diabetes conditions. Vinegar is inexpensive, easy to obtain, and, for some, very tasty. Vinegar can definitely be something diabetics pleasantly look forward to using to help cut or lower their blood sugar levels, especially after meals.
